1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Tact (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Tact is an iOS application that provides screen time awareness through:

• Real-time device usage monitoring via Apple’s Screen Time API
• Personalized awareness notifications
• Daily usage goals and streak tracking
• Usage insights and comparisons

3. Subscription and Payment

3.1 Free Trial

• New users receive a 7-day free trial
• No charges during the trial period
• Cancel anytime before trial ends to avoid charges

3.2 Subscription Terms

• After the free trial, subscription automatically renews
• Subscription is billed through your Apple ID account
• Price and billing period are displayed before purchase
• Subscription continues until canceled

3.3 Cancellation

• Cancel anytime in your Apple ID account settings
• Cancellation must occur at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid next charge
• Access continues until end of current billing period after cancellation
• No refunds for partial periods

3.4 Price Changes

• We may change subscription prices with 30 days’ notice
• Existing subscribers maintain current price until renewal after notice period

4. User Requirements

To use Tact, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or age of digital consent in your region)
• Have an iOS device running iOS 16 or later
• Grant Screen Time API authorization
• Grant notification permissions (optional, but required for awareness notifications)

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to bypass subscription verification
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Interfere with the App’s operation or security features

6. Screen Time Data and Privacy

6.1 Data Access

• The App accesses Screen Time data via Apple’s authorized API
• You control access through iOS Screen Time authorization
• All data remains on your device — no external transmission

6.2 Data Usage

• Screen Time data is used solely to provide App functionality
• Data is not shared, sold, or transmitted to third parties

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership

• The App, including all code, designs, and content, is owned by its creators
• “Tact” name and logo are trademarks
• All rights reserved

7.2 Limited License

• You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App
• License is personal and may not be shared or transferred
• License terminates upon subscription cancellation or Terms violation

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

8.1 Service Availability

• The App is provided “as is” and “as available”
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time

8.2 Data Accuracy

• Screen Time data accuracy depends on Apple’s API and iOS system limitations
• We make no guarantees about data precision
• Usage statistics are estimates for awareness purposes

8.3 Notification Delivery

• Notification delivery depends on iOS system factors
• We cannot guarantee notifications will always deliver
• System-level notification settings affect delivery

8.4 No Medical or Health Advice

• The App is for informational and awareness purposes only
• It is not medical advice or a substitute for professional help
• Consult healthcare professionals for concerns about device usage

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the subscription
• We are not responsible for Apple’s handling of payments or subscriptions

10. Apple Terms

• All subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store
• Apple’s Terms of Sale and App Store Terms apply
• Refund requests must be made through Apple
• We have no control over Apple’s payment or refund processes

11. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms at any time
• Changes effective upon posting in the App or this document
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• Material changes will be communicated in the App

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent subscription activity
• Use the App in harmful or unlawful ways

Upon termination:

• Your subscription access ends immediately
• You must stop using the App
• You may request data deletion by uninstalling the App

13. Governing Law

14. Dispute Resolution

For disputes:
